BRIEF: ACCESIBLE WASHROOM REFURBISHMENT

DURATION: 2 WEEKS          VALUE: £25 – £30K

SCOPE OF WORKS: Within two of the existing washrooms on site, it had been reported there where a number of issues that had resulted in Health & Safety breaches. This led to a member of staff becoming hospitalised as a result of this.
PES were asked to carry out an intrusive survey to identify the cause of the faults and specify corrective action to prevent any re-occurrences, as well as making the spaces more accessible.
It was identified that the sub-floor had not been installed correctly to allow for a sufficient fall for the drainage of water.

    • Remove and dispose of all damaged fixtures and fittings within the washroom.
    • Remove and dispose of the vinyl flooring and sub-floor.
    • Install a new sub-floor with the correct drop to allow for adequate drainage.
    • Install a new Altro vinyl flooring with cove formers and capping seals.
    • Repair and re-grout all tiling within the washroom.
    • Install new fixtures and fittings.

    BRIEF: SHOWER ROOM REFURBISHMENTS

    DURATION: 8 WEEKS        VALUE: £100 – £150K

    SCOPE OF WORKS: One of our clients who occupies a heritage building within Whitehall approached PES to complete a refurbishment to both the ladies and gents’ showers within the lower ground floor.
    In the past, several rooms within the building were converted to shower rooms by others. This design was based solely around the extract systems, resulting in cubicles being over 3 meters wide.
    Due to an increase in occupancy levels the client asked PES to increase the capacity within the shower rooms to suit the new demand.
    After successful tender, PES where instructed to complete the following on site:

    • Strip out and disposal of all existing fixtures and fittings.
    • Strip out and disposal of all existing supply and drainage pipework.
    • Strip out and disposal of the existing supply and extract ductwork.
    • Strip out and disposal of all partition walls creating the cubicles within the shower rooms.
      Design, Specification and Installation of replacement supply and drainage pipework.
    • Design, Specification and Installation of replacement supply and extract ductwork.
    • Installation of a new supply and extract booster fan to suit the increasing demand.
    • Re-decoration of the shower room following the strip out to include new tiling throughout.
    • Installation of the new shower cubicles as specified by the client.
    • Installation of new fixtures and fittings with the shower room as specified by the client.
    • Testing & Commissioning of all systems.
