BRIEF: AHU REFURBISHMENT PROJECT
DURATION: 5 MONTHS APPROX. VALUE: £100K – £200K
SCOPE OF WORKS: After several years of providing support to the on-site team with maintenance and repairs, PES operatives where asked to assist with refurbishing nineteen air handling units, to prolong their lifespan and rectify an array of long-term faults.
So that we could fully understand the extent of the work required, our project managers and technical team spent several weekends completing a detailed inspection of all nineteen AHU’s and their associated ancillary components.
The inspection was compiled into a detailed report and a corrective action plan was drawn up to present to the client.
After being successfully instructed, our in-house project and technical operatives began methodically rectifying the identified issues to bring the AHU’s back into full working order and ultimately increase the longevity of each item of plant.
To complete this project an extensive list of tasks where undertaken but to provide an overview we would offer the below;
- Removal of AHU fans for overhaul within our workshop.
Replacement of all Motors within the AHU’s. - Replacement Bearings, Belts, Pulleys and Bushes on each drive.
- All coils where cleaned and the fins straightened.
- All of the damaged dampers and attenuators where replaced with new.
- All actuators where replaced with new.
- Finally, each AHU received a thorough clean and treatment to prevent any rust for the foreseeable future.
